From President Kirsty Stark:
REMINDER: Our next 2 regular Tuesday morning meetings have been replaced by Marie’s Farewell and the club Changeover Brunch.
It was great to see Shirley Roberts back at this week’s meeting. Shirley and Kevin are both doing well and will be attending our Changeover Brunch in a couple of weeks, so we will look forward to seeing them again then.
Our guest speaker was Kerrie Smith, the current President of the University of the Third Age (U3A) in Campbelltown. The U3A began in Europe, and is an opportunity for those over 50 who are working under 20 hours per week to attend classes, groups and outings to get to know others in the local community and learn new skills.
Under Kerrie’s leadership, the Campbelltown U3A is thriving, with a wide range of courses and groups including yoga, languages, art, music, and even a book group for Kerrie’s personal passion, Crime Fiction.
The cost for an annual membership is $50, which includes all the regular classes at the Campbelltown U3A centre, and the only additional cost is for expenses relating to crafts or external activities.

This week’s meeting was my last Hectorville meeting as President. The last two meetings of the Rotary year will be:
- Marie Hermanns’ Farewell next Wednesday 7th July at the Kensington Hotel, and
- Our Club’s Changeover Brunch at Wholly Belly on the 18th.
Numbers have already been provided to Norwood for Marie’s Farewell, so if you would like to attend and haven’t let me know, please do so ASAP. The meeting is 6 for 6:30pm and you should bring your $30 meal cost in cash to pay at the door.
Sunday June 18th is our Magill Sunrise Changeover Brunch; 10:30 AM for 11:00 AM at Wholly Belly 24 Magill Road Norwood (next to Fisher Firearms): www.whollybelly.com.au Yummy pancakes and other treats from their wood fired kitchen. Feedback to Ian ASAP. So far only seven have RSVPed!
