Our guest speaker last Tuesday morning was Councillor Luci Blackborough (Hectorville Ward). Luci was only aged 18 when first elected and she is now into her second term.
Luci told us she became interested in Local Government when as a 16–17-year-old she spent one day per week at the City of Unley as part of her school studies. She said that she had excellent mentors on how Councils operate, which meant by age 18 she thought she was able to transition from a member of YAC (Youth Advisory Council) to offer her services as a Councillor to the good citizens of the City of Campbelltown.
