From President Chris Gascoine:

No Special Guests this week. Siony Gardiner, Graham Holcroft, Pauline Hill, and Carol McKenzie offered their apologies.

Kirsty led us in initial planning and scoping of The Reel Event in May 2019.

Our aim is to make this more of a gala, or “red carpet” like, event, bigger and better than ever. To this end, we will make it an early Sunday evening event at The Regal cinema, Kensington Road, Kensington. We will offer to hold a working bee to spruce up the premises in exchange for a good rate, and we will look into making it an award event with a photographer, and guest judges in place of the previous Q & A session with the film producers.

In the past we have been slow on deciding on a primary beneficiary, which in turn makes it difficult to drum up sponsorship and marketing ideas. So, it was decided that the proceeds of this year’s event will go to Cystic Fibrosis SA for research into finding a cure for CF.

Magill Sunrise Market

Rotary Magill Sunrise hosts an art and craft market in the carpark of the Campbelltown Library on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 8am – 12 noon. This month’s market was very successful, thanks to the Dutch Pancake Stallholders who brought more stallholders into the fold. Of course, the Rotary Fritters are always popular.

Our new stall (books and videos) is now up and running.

Check us out on Facebook:

Dutch Pancakes are a big hit, so tell your friends.

  • A number of annual subscriptions are still outstanding
  • Next Tuesday’s meeting has been shifted to Wednesday (19th) evening, 6:15 for 6:30pm at Chris and Susan’s home for an extended discussion on strategy for reinvigorating the club. Bring a plate to share.

Thought for the Week
