From President Chris Gascoine:

No guests at this week’s meeting. Carol McKenzie and Julie Carman offered their apologies.

Susan Gascoine

Susan gave a short presentation on her experiences during her two fundraising walks For Cystic Fibrosis SA. The first in 2016 was from Renmark to Adelaide and the second last year was from Murray Bridge to Adelaide. She met some interesting characters along the way. One standout was a young man who turned around his own downwards spiral because of the death of someone suffering from CF. Susan raised a total of $32,000 from both walks for Cystic Fibrosis SA. Now there’s a segue to say that Cystic Fibrosis SA will be the primary beneficiary from next year’s The Reel Event. We hope to raise $10,000.

Melbourne Cup Sweep

Kirsty looked ‘a sure thing’ with either first or second with her 2 horses, but Graham’s horse literally ran down the entire field to provide him to the winnings. Good one Graham.

Market This Sunday

Greg has been looking for help this Sunday for our Magill Sunrise Market, which also falls on Remembrance Day. We will also be honouring the day with a tribute and one minute’s silence.
