From President Mina Ward:

This being our last official meeting at Heccies for 2015, there was some reflection over the first six months of the Rotary year and some planning for the next six ahead. This week’s meeting was a combination of Committee Meetings for The Reel Event 2016 and the Club’s AGM, combined with Christmas cake and tinsel.

A big thank you to Sue for organising the help with RC Norwood and the BBQ at Bunning’s last Sunday. Mina, Paul and Sue sweated it out in the heat, thankfully it was the early shift!! We will keep you up to date on how much money was raised.

Just a reminder for anyone who is attending Christmas in Nightingale Park next Monday evening at 6:30 PM. Please, please, please pay your $20 per person ASAP and notify Kirsty and Sue.

We have confirmed the club is helping out with marshalling and catering at the Tour Down Under Campbelltown Stage, on Thursday January 21st, please put it in your diary and start asking family/friends if they would like to help out.

The club’s AGM confirmed the below positions for 2016/17:

  • President Elect = TBC
  • Secretary = Ian Coat
  • Treasurer = Chris Gascoine
  • Director of Progression = Greg Schuetze
  • Director of Community = TBC

Congratulations to all members who have been voted into these positions. If you have any comments about these positions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

There were some fantastic discussions at the meeting about different aspects of planning for The Reel Event 2016 (put 25th may in the new 2016 diary!) I was great to see everyone involved with the discussions. I am looking forward to making this year’s event, even bigger and better than previous years.

On that note I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and a stress free 2016. Please keep safe and enjoy every moment with friends and family- they are more precious than any present. I hope to see most of you at my place on 3rd January!
